Good evening, children - today we look through the round window ( the one with frosted glass).
Are you all sitting comfortably ? Good. Then I'll begin.
Once upon a time there was a boy who became the leader of his country; the most powerful person in the land. His Father had taught him - all through his childhood - never to tell a lie. One day, in his Daddy's garden, he chopped down a tree - he wasn't to know that it was one of his Daddy's favourite trees ....... but he did chop it down.
His Daddy called him into the study - do you know what a "study" is children ? Well, it's a small room where Daddies go to escape from the 24 hour a day irritation of children ! Daddy said," You have been taught that you never tell lies. Who chopped down my Cherry Tree ?".
The boy replied, " Father, I cannot tell a lie - it was me". This boy went on to become the President of the United States ........ his name - George Washington. This was possibly the only time a politician told the truth in the history of mankind!
Fast forward to 2010 and the United Kingdom; another boy who became the leader of his country ( but not chosen by the people) who had been taught by his Father not to lie ....... and his Father was a man of the Church. Unfortunately - once he'd found out what lying was, he embraced it like a new religion !
The Chilcot Inquiry - "I gave the military everything they asked for when I was Chancellor" ......... err, so that means the whole of the General Staff, Hoon the Loon, the Sergeant who died because he had to give his body armour away, the troops who died in Snatch landrovers, the ones killed because the lack of helicopters made them victims of basic IED's, the Unit C.O.'s, the techies trying to make the Chinooks in UK work in combat operational situations, the officers who resigned their commissions and the men who wouldn't "sign on" were all lying whilst he told the truth! Mmmmmm !
His announcement of the purchase of two hundred vehicles made in his election campaign in Afghanistan which should be available in 2011 or another 50 plus bodies through Wooton Bassett ( when 400 were requested by the military), his disappearance every time that Blair was in trouble and the crap of war hit the headlines, his writing a book called "Courage" when he has none whatsoever does not make him a George Washington. His is the "Queen of Hearts" stance ( if I say it's true then it is true), but not so much "Alice in Wonderland" as "Alice in Blunderland".
I do not recall a time when I have been so ashamed with the leadership of my country in my lifetime - from Crosland vowing to destroy the Grammar School system ( having been educated at Highgate School and Trinity College, Oxford) thus destroying the chances of working class boys having a similar education to himself, through to Wilson ( a crook and opportunist) saying "Devaluation will not affect the pound in your pocket" through to Wilson again with an honours list only beaten by that of Blair, then Callaghan with Healey ( possibly the last "decent" Labour Minister of Defence), then Blair, then Brown. Spot the connection ..... all Labour ! (and if ever there was a natural Labour voter, it should be me. A family of worker bees, all in the mines, steelworks or on the railway !)
But, children, I digress - vote for Gordon. He's sad about the loss of life that he admitted he agreed with - that should be good enough in the next election ( watch out for an early call whilst he believes that he has the benefit of the opinion polls).
Just remember - this is the party that had an official open door immigration policy to improve their vote ( along with the skewed system we have that already favours them ..... your taxes pay for these immigrants) although they didn't tell you about it up front. A crime and surveillance system that makes you the criminals not the victims. A finance system in tatters; an economy which has a Debt-v-GDP balance that is exactly the same as the one in Greece ( the current EU basket case); that spends 48% of the revenue of taxation on government employees; just remember the phrase of George Washington's when referring to the Cherry Tree ...........
"It wasn't me Father - it was everybody else !"
Gongdonkey
p.s. : Isn't it a shame that David Cameron is such a tosser ????????
